Despite 100+ temp climate at ASU chilly

There is a distinctly 'chilly climate' on campus. Privacy and free thought and speech at ASU is actively discouraged by President Crow! "Computer nerds from ASU's Information Technology division have been bullied by both the U.S. Justice department and the Federal Communications Commission into a billion-dollar systems upgrade that permits wiretapping of computer networks at universities nationwide". New Times, R. Pela

STUDENTS!!! THIS along with the outrageous dormitory searches. Doesn't this anger you to strike back for your rights????? GET ACTIVE!!!!!

Tenure cases from departments that have given Crow trouble are denied, even though they have been supported by the department faculty, the department chair, the college faculty, the dean, the university faculty and the Provost.

Both Crow and Poste have been unethical, vicious, vindictive, merciless and unrelenting in their efforts to destroy Pettit both professionally and personally.

I came to ASU because of the vision of Crow et al. and I must say I am still very pleased with ASU and the possibilities for young and interdisciplinary faculty members that I missed at other universities. It is a pitty that a few lunatics spoil the atmosphere by blogs like this instead of doing something constructively. A lot of statements are made without any evidence or are obviously plain wrong. I do not say that everything is perfect, but that will never be with so many opinions. I hope that the readers of this blog will start making some constructive contributions to ASU instead of insulting others. But I guess we have to wait till some dinosaurs will retire.

Someone told me there were only 5 people happy at ASU. You MUST be one of the five.

Congratulations!!!!!

President Crow takes the view that each person at ASU is either for him or against change. He does not seem to understand that people might be in favor of many of the changes he is trying to make, but cannot stomach his methods. Michael’s view is “the end justifies the means,” and he is willing to take almost any risk and ignore almost any policy or law that gets in his way. Since his arrival there have been massive policy changes, enacted solely at his whim and for the single purpose of allowing him to do what he wants to do. There is no consideration to whether the policy served a useful purpose or provided necessary protections, if Michael doesn’t want to be bound by them, they are gone. His usual explanation for change is that Arizona is a “backwater” state and doesn’t know how to behave in the big arena.
